A compelling manuscript requires more than just strong ideas—it needs clarity, structure, and a refined voice. As an award-winning editor, writer, and literary translator, I bring deep experience in shaping narrative nonfiction, cultural criticism, and literary fiction.

At Spiegel & Grau, I acquired and developed a diverse range of nonfiction and literary fiction spanning history, politics, race, science, memoir, and literature in translation. My acquisitions included works that examine the hidden structures shaping our world—such as Sandra Susan Smith’s The Difference a Day Makes, an investigation into the profound consequences of pretrial detention, and Nate Hopper’s The Time, a sweeping history of how we measure and experience time. I’ve worked on books that bring overlooked histories to light, like Nadim Roberts’s Mangilaluk’s Highway, a deeply reported narrative about three boys who escaped a notorious residential school in the Arctic.

In fiction, I championed international voices and ambitious storytelling, such as Giulia Caminito’s The Lake’s Water Is Never Sweet, a fierce coming-of-age novel set on the margins of Rome, and David Baerwald’s The Fire Agent, an espionage saga inspired by the author’s own family history, spanning Japan, Germany, and the U.S. during the rise of fascism.

Beyond books, I’ve also worked as an editor at Literary Hub, shaping essays and reported features on history, politics, and culture—including an inside look at a writing workshop in Sri Lanka that brought together former combatants of its civil war to foster reconciliation through storytelling, as well as pieces on the ideological evolution of white supremacy, Shakespeare’s place in a post-pandemic world, and much more.
